| This is a listing of pre 1950 movie star postcard publishers. These include Iris, Cinemagazine, Picturegoer, Europe, Beagles, Lilywhite, An Paris and many more. The countries of origin include Germany, France, England, Italy, Sweden, etc. The number of different publishers is by no means complete. At this time, I have found around 66 different card series. This does not count the many cards which have no publishers name listed on the card, or are unnumbered. This also does not include arcarde cards, some of which were also postcards; they too were unnumbered. I also do not list any movie star cards from 1950 on. I have also generally left out the early theatre postcards, although many theatre actresses also appeared in films (Bille Burke, Gladys Cooper, etc.) Most of my lists only have a few cards on them at this time. I will glady accept any contributions to the lists, including any additional series not listed. I have separated these cards by country of origin. Some of these I quessed on, so they may not be accurate. Those series that I was unable to figure out their country of origin are in a separate grouping. Anyone with any additional information, please e-mail me. There are some cards who only have a studio name on the card (M.G.M., Paramount, UFA, etc.), without any additional information on their publisher. I do not know who put these cards out, or if they really all belong to the same series (per studio name), but I have grouped them as such.
